Batik
Subtly woven into the interior design are hints of distinct batik patterns, where each motif tells a story of tradition and craftsmanship.
The main door, interior panels, and ceiling are decorated with our modern interpretation of Banji – a batik pattern from West Java with influences from China and India back in the day; as a representation of Jakarta being a melting pot of culture. Banji means happiness and blessings that are multiplied.
Intricate patterns adorning the walls and floor of our ballroom prefunction draws inspiration from the traditional Indonesian batik motif, known as “Lurik Hujan Gerimis,” frequently found in the vibrant culture of Bogor and West Java. This pattern, reminiscent of gentle rain, symbolizes prosperity as water is a vital element essential for all life on Earth.
